Camera Accessory
I want to buy a Digital Slr camera, but don't really know what I'm looking for?
I don't want anything super expensive (I'm thinking $500 max), but I don't really know a lot about them. What are some good ones around this price range? What are some good accessories to get? I want to be able to take pictures without being behind the camera, what accessory would I need for that?
Although it is getting a little old, the D40 is a perfectly fine camera
for a beginner (I would say even better than the D40x or D60). The D40 new is about $460.00. I would also consider the D3000 instead (about $550.00). The D3000 is a much easier camera for a beginner (has a nice guide feature), not to mention it just came out on the market so it will hold its resale value better. Also, the D3000 Kit Lens is a VR lens, whereas D40 kit lens does not have vibration reduction technology, thus making the D3000 an even better value. Check out the links below for a great review of the cameras. The Canon XS (1000D) for about $510.00 for the kit is also a fine camera for the price.
