This does not really answer your question but it should make you think along different lines. Your question is related to price of energy. All energy supply companies will give a quote and there will not be all that much difference between any of them. None of them have a big margin to work with and that is why they offer "little snippets" hoping these attracts custom. I have been involved in energy efficiency for sixteen years and know the industry inside out. What I am going to tell you is very important. It is not the price that is important it is the amount of energy you use that increases your energy running costs. Of course unit cost is related but it is a matter of controlling your energy that really brings down the price. I develop energy efficiency products, the one I am doing at the moment has reduced my heating costs in a five bedroom house by 43% just by introducing very fine control for each room. My product is not due out until March 2007 and at the moment I am sourcing manufacturers. If you reduce your heat level in one room by just 1 degree C you will save 8% of the energy in that room. There is not 8% difference in energy supply prices. Good house keeping in the way you use your heating will save you a lot of money and so will watching how you use your electric appliances.
One of the biggest wasters of energy for heating is the one hour boost and it is generally very often used. It boosts every room in your house that you normally heat for that one hour when all you intended was a one hour boost for one room. Rooms that are not used regularly are often heated even if at a lower level for the same time clock periods as rooms that are used regularly. These are the sort of things that run up your energy bill.
