What's wrong with my Desktop's USB connection ?
Everything was fine a week ago except that the system was a bit unstable. So, I bought a genuine version of Windows XP Professional -SP2 and installed it on my computer. Now the system performance is on a boost. But, I can not connect my mobile phones !
I have a SonyEricsson W810i and a Nokia N72. I was able to connect them to my desktop via USB earlier. Now, the computer just doesn't realize that a phone device is connected ! I get no response at from my computer when I connect either of these phones.
Please note that I have installed required software for the two phones, that is SonyEricsson PC Suite and Nokia PC Suite. I even tried doing a driver update for the USB. But that did not work.
What has possibly gone wrong ? Please provide relevant answers.
Your copy of Windows XP Pro doesn't have the driver of all possible computers. Go to the Device Manager and make sure you have all the USB controller drivers installed and updated. You may need to go to your computer manufacturer's website for the latest Windows XP drivers for your particular model.
