Automotive Technician Tool Sets?
Im currently attending wyotech automotive school and im just wondering what kind of tools i should buy as an entry level technician. Im constantly bombarded with different tool companies preaching their particular brand of tools. Snap-On, Mack, Craftsman, they all seem to have the same lifetime warranty but they greatly differ in price. Would you say it is really worth the price to buy snap on tools at top dollar when i could get craftsman for alot cheaper????
As far as hand tools go start out with Craftsman. You get more for your buck for a beginner and they have lifetime warranty like Mac and others. When I started out I got a set at Sears, it was a 700 piece set for about $750 with all kinds of sockets ratchets screw drivers etc... a little of everything. They also have sets with fewer items for less also. As far as air tools go I swear by Ingersol Rand. They are light weight and strong enough for every day use.
Snap On and Mac are good tools but why pay $300 for 8 wrenches when you can get LOTS more for less at Sears.
