I have a Canon Powershot A620 Digital Camera.How do I get the Video Camera option to record sound as well?

Maybe I need to buy a separate part, but I'm pretty sure it can be done. In the menu there is a "Playback Sound Volume" option, and it is up all the way...

I think I have a very simple solution for you. Go into your camera's setup MENU (the folder with the tool icons).
You will find...MUTE at the top of the list. Make sure...OFF is selected.

I think this will work, because I just tried it out on my Canon Camera. I shot a video with the MUTE on (which recorded no sound) and then re-selected MUTE off...and, voila! sound.

Try it...

p.s. Playback volume is only for the playback volume of recorded movies or sound memos.
