What is the best Digital Video Camera out there with the best deal?

I'm wondering right now what is the current best deal for a digital video camera that connects easily to your computer so you are able to transfer the video you recorded from your camera to your computer for video editing and movie making. Right now the current one i have is a basic straight to mini cassette so I'm forced to rewind when i mess up recoding something. I'm trying to find something 500 or below.
